Colorful Family Room Redo

After spending a significant amount of time and money on the kitchen and living room remodel of their cape cod home, my client was left with a very neglected adjoining family room. The room was a dark paneled space with a very inefficient furniture layout. It had 0 storage for all the "stuff" we need at our disposal in a high use hangout room. We needed to keep the budget low and keep the whole thing a surprise for his wife, so we planned the entire redo for 1 very busy weekend.
After some convincing, my client finally agreed to paint the existing paneling this awesome shade of green/blue by Benjamin Moore (sources below). Although it was time consuming, he agreed that painting the room was well worth the labor. Next, new carpeting was installed in a comfy multicolored cut pile style which is super soft and cozy. After the furniture was delivered, we worked to add window film on the long side window to give privacy from the neighbors next door. Although it turned out great, this was a tedious and frustrating process! (Note to self: look harder for the instructions next time!).

Now on to the fun part, accessorizing and finishing touches! We painted the existing side table this great shade of barn red and added the rope pull from Anthropologie. Curtains, artwork and the rest were all found at local stores or were the homeowner's keepsakes. My client and his wife were very happy with the finished product which really showcased their fun, warm personalities:).

A cozy corner was created for my client to relax and enjoy his hobbies.

The framed Monopoly board is a cross stitch piece that was the inspiration for this colorful room.

Vintage table, found at a local Antiques shop, adds an entry spot for mail & keys at the back door.

Framed CocaCola puzzle is so fun! Storage cabinet for family DVD's and games.
